Erik went into surgery at 7:30 this morning. I'm so confident in his team - two surgeons, two anesthesiologists, two nurses, and their assistants - he's in good hands!
They're planning for the surgery to take all day, and they'll likely need to give him blood transfusions. Afterwards, he'll go to the ICU. I'll be here in the surgery waiting room, inches away, all the time. They'll update me several times during the day.
Erik was doing really well this morning, and is so looking forward to having the tumor gone. It had grown more and was really hurting him. I have so much respect for him and the way he's handling this!
Prayers and good energy are welcome for Erik and for his doctors! And thanks so much for all the love!
