Another very painful night - The switchover from the epidural drip to oral meds was rocky, and it took most of the night and all morning to get the pain settled down. But Erik did his physical therapy anyway, and has been really working on recovery. The pain is tolerable now, and everything looks great, so he's been cleared to head home this afternoon!
He'll still have two of the drains and a wound vacuum until the incisions are better, and will continue to do the PT and recovery exercises. He meets with the surgeon and the chemotherapy doctor in about 2 weeks, will likely have a CT scan about the same time, and they'll go from there.
Overall the surgery was a complete success! Thank you yet again for all the prayers, healing energy, and love!!
