Erik is home and doing wonderfully! He has such a great attitude and determination! Already by day two he's able to get around really well using the walker, is able to deal with the pain meds, the exercises, the remaining drains, and the wound vacuum on his own, and is basically back to being his normal self. His roommates have been totally fantastic - clearing off the stairs and railing so he could get into the house more easily, streamlining the rooms he'll use, having his room ready for him, and so many other thoughtful things - thank you Connie and Josh! He's in the best possible place, and is so happy to be home!
He'll spend the next two weeks healing, with physical therapy and at home, then will have another CT scan and review with the doctors to see about his lungs. I won't update every day during those two weeks, but will do a couple posts to keep you in the loop, and will definitely let you know how the scan and meetings go on September 13th.
Thank you all once again for being so caring and supportive. It means so much to Erik, and to me!
